Dove's Journey

Dove's Journey

My Love, you were a happy child.
Innocence suckling nature's bosom.
Sweet squeals launch a carefree pixie.
Perfection is embodied in a babe's spirit.

Gleeful energy, drawing a hunter's eye.
Fangs salivate upon the porcelain doll.
Bolt launched from the beast's quiver.
A wooden needle protrudes from the heart.

Invisible fetter from sliver to stone.
Enslaved Dove forced to perform.
Animal slakes his ghastly hunger.
The inevitable consumption of purity.

Survival requires Dove to closet truth.
Stalkers feast on the ravaged puppet.
Crimson stains on the pearly dress.
Courageous, she emerges tattered.

Enter Raven, passionate plea extended.
Dove discovers shelter from a storm.
Love, gifting her a moment of respite.
One season free of salacious teeth.

Raven must depart for distant lands.
Dove reels, as lustful huntsmen clamour.
Turmoil ensues, a nipping of heels.
She escapes, and freedom now beckons.

Mate is found, nest firmly built.
Safe with family, yet unease rings.
Images of Raven wrestle her calm.
Abandoned heart, an empty echo.

Autumn leaves curry frosty soil.
Nest soon she finds empty.
Sunset reveals Raven's shadow.
Dream or reality, she reaches.

The vision of beauty, a long-lost melody.
Tears rendered, love never forsaken.
Sated spirit peacefully basking.
                                 Dove embraces her Raven.
