Origin of the Ego

Namaste; Yesterday I was discussing the origin of the ego. Volumes of information can be found on the ego, however suppositions on where the ego comes from are much harder to find. Don Juan teaches in the following about entities he calls "fliers", I want to appeal to your analytical mind. Think for a moment, and tell me how you would explain the contradiction between the intelligence of man the engineer and the stupidity of his systems of beliefs, or the stupidity of his contradictory behavior. Sorcerers believe that the predators have given us our systems of beliefs, our ideas of good and evil, our social mores. They are the ones who set up our hopes and expectations and dreams of success or failure. They have given us covetousness, greed, and cowardice. It is the predators who make us complacent, routinary, and egomaniacal.
In order to keep us obedient and meek and weak, the predators engaged themselves in a stupendous maneuver; stupendous, of course, from the point of view of a fighting strategist. A horrendous maneuver from the point of view of those who suffer it. They gave us their mind! Do you hear me? The predators give us their mind, which becomes our mind. The predators’ mind is baroque, contradictory, morose, filled with the fear of being discovered any minute now.
If we consider these fliers to be the ego, then one would ask, why did the fliers have a supressed impact on collector gather man juxaposed to modern techno man? I have seen reference to similar assessments of the ego's origin in other publications. Never have I been able to find other suppositions for the ego's origin but for some reason I feel there is much more to learn. I wonder if these channeled and shamanic visions of the ego depicted as an alien invasion of our body is not a metaphore for the ego body. I wonder if the ego is not a bandwith of energy which is accessable to those conscious bodies which vibrate at familiar fequencies. As we develop our godself we vibrate higher and higher until we are able to leave the ego energy to exist in a dormant state. I love the ego as a part of the divine experience and value the many and continued lessons I have learned at the behest of the ego. I accept the ego to be a part of the all, I accept it's godliness as the arrow that leads me to the essence of love. Where did we first meet this beautiful beast? Is it a function of the trauma caused by an alien race changing our DNA, is it a field of energy to be tapped like an ocean, or is it something else?

  1. That is very similar to the biblical satan or Buddhist Mara, it is all an illusion and one only broken by enlightenment. The origin of the ego and its nature are less important than its ending. Otherwise you are actually focussing on it even more than when you just let it lead you. Just a thought.

  2. Thank you for your comment David, I am not familiar with your reference, I will research this Buddhist Mara philosophy to further this quest. With regards to the bible (King George version of the New Testament) you make an interesting comment, there are so many metaphoric references to the devil the ego could easily wear that glove. I am intrigued by your use of the words important and focussing. I find nothing important but many things interesting. I submit that the origin and, since you included nature, the nature of the ego the be very important from an interesting perspective. Focussing is a wonderous word, to focus, to look deeper, to investigate and question the essence of our path to reason. I hope that by shedding a little light on our friend does not in your mind constitute the giving away of Godself in favor of allowing the ego to lead. Manifesting control over the ego is a simple choice, understanding the essence of the ego is a great philosophical forum. Thanks again David please visit again.

  3. Hi! My understand of esoteric history is that all Creation begins as a series of emanations from cosmic mind. The great plan was to individualise God as humans, so that we might discover god in each other and love one another. However in order to individualise, mind became hardened into matter. As humans "fell" into matter, pain became the dominant emotion, and the ego emerged in the human skull.

The ego will gradually disperse again as the cosmos re-ascends out of a purely material state. But we must all be on our guard against those forces that would keep us stuck in the false ecstasy of materialism.

    God bless!

  4. My understanding of an ego is simple:lower feelings like anger, sadness, jelousy is ego personality except love. Everything what is based on love is God consciousness. How ego started to rule us? Because we let it. We had to let it feel those lover vibrations to see, and most importantly feel the difference between good and bad.Whithout ego we will not have reason to come to Earth.(sorry for any language mistakes)
