I LOVE YOU

My Observer, Myself and "I"

For years, I never knew "I" existed. Until the day I realised, there were two of us present in my body. It is a bit mind-bending to discover there is another you. Even more of a trip to find out that the "you", you thought you were, only exists as an illusion.

How was I to figure it out?

No one ever told me the truth. "Hey, by the way, Christopher, you are not you. There exists another you which is the real you. The you which you think you are, is really just a very persistent illusion. In a nutshell, there are two yous, only one is real and you haven't discovered the real one yet."

The Egoself is the primary filter through which we all perceive reality. From the perspective of Egoself, we see ourselves as separate beings born into a grand universe. Egoself narcissistically competes for gain, often at the cost of others. Egoself believes in birth, and anticipates death, whilst remaining steadfastly convinced of the physicality of being. Egoself dwells in the regrets of the past, while fearing what the future may hold.

When caught by the illusions of Egoself, we strive to compete with the outside world. Survival becomes the prime directive. Egoself is the embodiment of Maya, the purveyor of all fear. For better or worse, Egoself represents what the majority of humanity sees when peering in the mirror of self-reflection. We cannot be too hasty to judge Egoself as its primary function is that of the teacher. Often, we determine Maya to be dastardly. However, upon reflection, most people agree their greatest gains have been wrought from their most arduous challenges.

The Godself is the other filter with which we may choose to perceive reality. Existing ubiquitously in the ethereal plane of unity consciousness, the Godself represents one's higher state of being. From the Godself perspective, we see beyond the illusion of the physical world. Scientifically, as well spiritually, the Godself defines matter as light bent into temporary form by 'you' the conscious observer. Godself knows birth and death as illusions used by the Egoself mind to breed urgency in the hearts of humanity. Past and future are seen as illusions by Godself. Where Egoself represents a ticking clock, Godself supplants linear time by defining our existence as one perfect eternal moment of NOW. From the perspective of Godself, all reality is a singularity of love. The Godself, knowing itself as the totality of all manifest reality, does not compete nor judge. Godself is the personification of unconditional love, the part of self which always chooses to serve compassionately in the absence of judgment.

We are creator beings. Every thought, feeling and emotion we have programs the universe, thereby, defining our personal reality.

We know ourselves to be actors, how many of us know we are scriptwriters as well?

What do you think?

Do you feel you are actively creating a reality of love?

Our world is immersed in fear. Children fear their school grades, adults' fear the ability to provide, and the age of their imminent death. We all seem to fear a calamitous future; politics, environment, economy, radiation, cancer, austerity, hunger, fuel, water, air, oceans, climate change, and even bloody asteroids seem to loom with ominous certainty.

Look at mainstream media, death or destruction for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fear is experienced in countless other subtle manifestations; need, desire, hope and doubt to name a few. With Egoself getting so much play, it seems one has to make a concerted effort to have any hope of embracing the Godself love within.

Can we change our world by making it more beautiful and loving?

Yes, we most certainly can!

However, there is good news and bad. The good news, we can simply choose love more often. When working, we can choose love by thinking of how our work feeds those we love or aids those we serve. When interacting with people we can choose to smile and feel love while in their presence. We can choose to love and appreciate the elements, birds, animals, all creatures big and small. We can remain vigilant of our thoughts ensuring we dedicate our feelings to empower our reality as well as the experiences we forge with our brethren.

By thinking and feeling love more often, we will see our personal and extended world change for the better. By choosing to enhance the lives of those we meet, we find peace, tranquillity and love become our norm. We all desire a better reality experience. Peace, love and unity is the only intelligent solution.

The bad news, our default mechanism is autopilot which, as a result of Ego's survival instinct coupled with mainstream media, runs primarily on fear. If you don't think you run on fear how about a few examples.

Most people work all day for fear of a lack of productivity. If we don't get what the boss expects of us, then we will certainly lose our jobs. How about our best friend Bill, the only guy who writes to us every month. If Bill doesn't get paid, what happens to you and the family? Even our little ones can't catch a break. Do adults have any idea how hard it is for their children to get a high school diploma or a postgraduate degree? We spend 40 hours per week immersed in fear-biased activity, and then we dither over why we tangle with stress problems. How many people arrive home from work, eat dinner before they get a chance to unwind, then sit in front of the T.V. force-feeding fear for a few hours before bedtime.

Happy dreams!

Fear is ever-present. Conscientious observation forces you to agree most people are jacked up on fear all day. Fear has become so ever-present it appears as a normal state of being. Most people would vehemently disagree their life is riddled with fear, at least until they take a more granular look at their lives.

The next big problem is what I call autopilot syndrome. If we fail to actively and consciously embrace love, we will tend to operate 99% of our day on autopilot. When on autopilot we are always living in the ego mind, whereby, we are not actively choosing love. If you think I am wrong, if you anticipate my analysis does not apply to you, your friends or your family, then just try the 1% test.

Consciously dedicate yourself to choosing love as often as you possibly can for one day. At day's end, do your best to add up all the minutes you were thinking loving thoughts or feeling loving emotions. Divide those definitive loving moments from the total waking minutes of your day, then see if love exceeds 1% of your daily experience. The vast majority of people will conclude it requires a conscious effort to exceed a one per cent level of love.

How do we get around this ever-present obstacle to love?

Can we turn off the autopilot?

If we truly desire love, we can choose to find it in every waking moment. We can make a few lifestyle changes which will certainly help our quest. The best start is to eliminate the T.V. Television places you in an alpha state which literally controls your mind, as a result, you are unable to consciously choose love.

Choose to spend less time around people who constantly complain about their world or the actions of others. Slow down, and smell the flowers. Our world is amazingly beautiful, I find my backyard brings great joy into my life. There are also certain moods which we can get in the habit of creating. Peaceful environmental moments afforded by botanical meadows, fragrant forests or cool streams freshening the dog days of summer. Meditation, with a concentrated focus on embracing love within, is always a direct path to feeling fantastic. Appreciating the company of loved ones nearby or sending warm thoughts to those far away will always make you smile.

Most importantly it is vigilance which will be needed. Think of it as a game of construction.

You are building two homes, one is out of fear, the other out of love. You will find yourself and your family living in the home which you spend the most time building. If left to your own, you would not likely build at all. Possibly you would find it difficult to build a safe strong and reliable home capable of weathering the storms of a lifetime. Keeping to task so that you build a sturdy home requires a mentor.

Mainly because he does nothing but observe and report to my Godself, I like to call my mentor the Observerself.

In my mind, my Observerself plays the role of a third character. Egoself teaches us lessons, Godself is our true identity, whilst the observer self keeps a vigilant eye on all our thoughts, feelings and emotions.

Our life drastically changes when we adopt our Observerself. At first, we are completely shocked at how little time each day we dedicate to embracing or sharing love. It is only with the aid of our Observerself that we discern paths to continually increase the number of loving thoughts, feelings and emotions we choose each day.

In time, we find it to be very addictive to steal moments in the day to just idly think about love, unity or how beautiful the world is.

I guess you could say I have a multiple personality. I see all three identities as separate, very distinctively beautiful, aspects of my self-expression. Instead of fighting the current, my Observerself has allowed me to go with the flow. I see the unfolding of my reality as a dance between Egoself and Godself. My Egoself teaches my Godself to remember the dance steps toward love. All the while, my Observerself makes sure my Godself can choose to lead me to an expression of unconditional love.

Love reminds me a lot of Mrs. Grady's apple tree. Her delicious apples were always free, we just had to pick them.

Choose to be in control of the world you desire to experience.

In Lak' ech brethren, I love you.

  1. Fear is a strong feeling but it's definitely not stronger than love... if only people could realize this...they would stop chasing themselves... if only people could 'observe' their 'god self' and impersonate a blind sculptor to create their 'I' which is nothing but the beautiful, raw, fragile yet the most powerful LOVE.
    thanks for sharing chris..
    ~much love.

  3. Hello Chris:

Well written. I often view the ego as a small child and sometimes laugh as I say, "Shape up".

Enjoy all the aspects of your humanity, but never forget who is in charge in your human body. Bathe the ego in Love & it will eventually come to it's senses.

    Kindest & warmest regards,
    Mike

  4. namaste my brother Mike, I have not written in a while, time seems to escape.

I like your attitude to ego, I think it is important to treat it like a child. I prefer to see my ego as a naughty little monkey running around having fun causing trouble.

  7. Christopher, thank you for your beautiful presence. i love this post, especially as it touches on what i have been thinking about. so, what a great time to have finally stopped by.
sorry for the big delay in responding, my soul was out of order, and i had no words.
i also think that fear is so all-pervasive it is not considered as such. it is amazing sometimes to ponder what is considered normal by many is perceived as insanity by the few. i can honestly say i have never owned a television, and never will. it not only numbs the mind, but a specific kind of mass-media vocabulary tends to creep into the daily language of heavy watchers, without them being aware.
yes, there is beauty to be found everywhere. how could it not be so? one must only look and appreciate. have you noticed that in a city people rushing around, no one ever looks up into the sky? that the majority of gazes are fixed downward? i cannot tell you how many times i have bumped into things being mesmerized by a cloud formation. today i was marvelling at the beautiful sound the water makes when being poured into the clay water pitcher so popular in the middle east, acting as a natural filter and cooler. it seems so mundane, but to me it is a little magic.
i hope you are well, beautiful greetings from sonja

  8. Christopher You are truly an enlightened soul whom I find most interesting and most humble. A rare find and a friend of mine! Do keep spreading the truth so maybe others can see the light. Your words are surely channeled through Spirit and bring so much goodness if folks will only listen and give it an honest try.Thank you my friend for being and expressing "all" the facets of yoiur being here with all of us. 9. Namaste sister Sonja, such a wonderful surprise. I often pop over to your site to revel in the beauty you have created. I hope your sabbatical is breathing freshness into your heart.

Thank you for your kind words, I see in your work how you recognise the beauty of the mundane. I can't fathom how you artists manage to create such emotion power with paint, but I love it dearly.

Having just recently escaped the grip of 15 years in the city I concur with your assessment. We fail to see the love in almost everything, the wrinkles in a persons face, wispy clouds on a summers day, the scent of a bloom of roses or the most beautiful sound of water pouring our of a clay pot.

When I was a young man I became captivated by photography. I went out and bought some accessory lenses a couple years later. Three micro lenses, a wide angle, a zoom and a fish eye later my photographic world turned upside down. Perspective is all that is needed to change our world.

In Lak' ech dear sister Sonja, prosper in peace roll around in love...

  17. Excellent and thought provoking post as always Christopher. Apologies for my lateness!

I'm so glad you discussed 'Time' - the prison warden! - and the media. TV was my last, and hardest, 'obvious chain' to break. It is amazing how different you feel when it's gone. When you sleep, your dreams become almost unrecogniseable (in a positive sense) and you seem to realign yourself to a higher conscious frequency.

I so wish that more people could take these first steps and then some - as you explain in your writings.

Keep spreading these precious 'wake up gifts'.
    Peace my friend.

  18. Namaste brother Carl, thank you for your visit and kind words. By the by you are not late, I posted this 2011 blog as an interlude, mostly because research on the next segment of Joe's world is bogging me down and I doubt I will be able to post the next installment for at least a week.

I thought this pleasing post might carry the day and offer a few smiles for my friends.
